5 NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS YOU’LL ACTUALLY WANT TO KEEP
RESOLUTION NO. 1: MEDITATE DAILY
This simple practice can have a huge impact on your life. Researchers have found that regular meditation can help ease stress and even chronic pain, by allowing you to better control what your mind focuses on and mentally “dial down the pain.” Getting started is easy. Just find a quiet spot, sit with your back straight (so you can breathe easily), and try to clear your mind and focus only on your breathing. Start with about 5 minutes a day, and you can increase the time as you go.
RESOLUTION NO. 2: EXERCISE 3 TIMES A WEEK
Let’s face it, for most of us, a resolution for daily exercise just isn’t going to happen. We’re busy, and a trip to the gym is easier said than done. But if we try, all of us can squeeze in a workout at least three times a week, and studies show this can help prevent against heart disease and a slew of other ailments. And hey, you might start loving your regular workouts and up the number of times you go, which is great. But even if you only stick with three a week you’re still doing a great thing for your body.
RESOLUTION NO. 3: WEEKLY BUBBLE BATHS
Think of your weekly bubble baths like luxe meditating. Everyone deserves a little “me time” to relax, de-stress, and just be alone. So, make the effort to give yourself this much-needed time and spend it in the bath. The warm water is relaxing and can soothe tired muscles, plus you can add ingredients like Epsom salt to help detox and decrease aches and pain.
RESOLUTION NO. 4: MONTHLY WINE, DARK CHOCOLATE AND GIRLS’ NIGHT OUT
At first glance this may seem like a silly indulgence, but actually all three ingredients in this monthly ritual are good for you. Wine and dark chocolate have good-for-you antioxidants, and studies show that maintaining close relationships with friends can prolong your life. So make your girls’ nights a priority … for your health of course.
RESOLUTION NO. 5: PAY IT FORWARD
The previous four resolutions are all a little self-centered (and rightfully so!), but this last one is all about helping others. Find a cause you love and donate your time, money, whatever you can. Bonus: Volunteering has been found to boost self-confidence and even ease the symptoms of depression. So there’s a little something in this one for you, too.

FIVE(5) BASIC BEAUTY SKIN TIPS EVERY WOMAN MUST OBEY
Because of too much stress and improper eating habits, many people tend to show signs of aging early on. So here are some basic beauty tips to keep yourself looking fresh and youthful!
Everyone wants to look their best. And your skin is the first thing that people notice about you, so it should be taken care of properly. There are different skin types — dry, oily, normal and combination. Each type of skin requires special care. However, with the overload of information on beauty today, it’s no wonder many of us are left in a state of confusion.
Some are born beautiful and others grow to become beautiful. Looking healthy and attractive is everyone’s dream, regardless of age group. Since lifestyle and skincare contribute a lot to your looks, here’s some advice to keep in mind.
1. Wash your face regularly
Wash your face at least twice a day (but no more than thrice) with a cleanser that suits your skin. Select your cleanser depending upon your skin type (dry, oily, normal or combination). You can also choose aloe-vera for cleansing. Be careful not to cleanse too often. Also, never wash your face with water that’s hot or too cold, as both can cause broken capillaries.
2. Exfoliate regularly
Exfoliation helps replenish the required oils of the body and removes dry, dead skin cells and dirt from the face. Try to exfoliate at least once or twice a week. You can also opt to cleanse your face on a regular basis.
A basic law of beauty is that everyone, no matter what skin type, should moisturise. As it is important to maintain the skin’s moisture content, you should use a moisturiser daily. Even more special care should be taken during harmattan, as the skin tends to become dry fast because of the cold. So, you should massage your body twice or thrice a day with moisturiser.
4. Dont forget sunscreen
Sunscreen is probably the most essential component of one’s skincare regimen. Wrinkles, which are the number one sign of aging, are triggered by sun exposure. So it is essential to make use of sunscreen from your early years.
5. Protect your lip
Chapped lips can be your worst nightmare. They hurt a lot and they don’t look good. You should apply a lip balm or oil or gel on your lips so that they won’t chap out.
